You’ve got a Mac, and you want to run Windows…
This article discusses setting up Parallels and VMware Fusion. VMware Fusion 2 vs. Parallels Desktop 4: Let’s Dance | TheAppleBlog reports:
“Both UIs are clean, simple and great improvements over previous incarnations. The layout of the applications in Windowed mode are incredibly similar, as well. Major functions like Suspend, and Settings are in the upper left hand corner, and view mode toggle buttons are in the upper right. The bottom right area in both has a number of icons, which control drives, display drive access indicators, and control sound, sharing, printing, etc.”
I’ve tried running and early version of Parallels on my previous Mac. It was a painful experience, and there’s no way I’d ever want to work that way. Parallels took forever to start up.
The latest version of Parallels may be faster, and if you have a speedy Mac and MUST run Windows, it might be a solution.
Here’s a better one — get a cheapie Windows laptop.
