I’m not a database kind of person. After working with heavy-duty databases apps in Windows, on my Mac I like the free and easy approach of unstructured note-keeping apps like Yojimbo (an excellent app, BTW).
However, I do have lots of information which is stored across several apps, and wondered whether an EASY database application might not be the best way to corral all this data, instead of opening half a dozen applications and hunting for what I need.
Without expecting too much, I downloaded Apple’s new Bento, and I’m very pleased.
This app is the database for people who hate databases.
It’s simple to use. If you’re used to big database apps, you’ll be amazed at how easy it is to create a database, add fields, and design forms.
You can even import data if you’ve been storing it in a spreadsheet.
Excellent – give it a try, even if you hate database apps.
