Split keyboard for Mac – pain free computing

by Angela on June 5, 2008

I’m using a Microsoft Wireless Natural keyboard, because Apple’s own keyboards increases the pain from my long-standing RSI. The keyboard works great; except for the lack of an Apple Delete key.

Now Kinesis Freestyle – The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW) reports:

“Kinesis (from the Greek kinetikos, or ‘damn you, carpal tunnel syndrome!’) have released a Mac addition to their Freestyle line of ergonomic keyboards, which allow users to split the keyboard in half for optimal positioning. This is accomplished via Kinesis’ Pivot Tetherâ„¢ technology, which appears to be, uh, a cable that connects the two halves of the Freestyle.”

Sounds great – very useful for Mac users with RSI.
